East New York Diagnostic and Treatment Center focuses its efforts on forming links within its Central Brooklyn neighborhood so that as many members of the community as possible learn about its services and how to access them. Its list of medical services is exhaustive, and includes adult medicine, dental services, electrocardiogram (EKG), Geriatrics, Prenatal Care Assistance Program (PCAP), mammography, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, radiology, Women Infant and Child (WIC) program, HIV/AIDS services, substance abuse and pharmacy.

East New York has a deep concern for those in need and operates medical units at local homeless shelters. It also provides primary care services to students in public schools during school hours and to community members after school hours. Its highly regarded Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic provides psychiatric assessment and treatment for children from newborns to age 18. East New York's compassionate care includes general family therapy and therapy for families affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as psychological testing and screening for learning disabilities and assessment of the psychological effects of severe trauma. The HIV/AIDS Treatment Services (HATS) Clinic concentrates on substance abuse prevention, confidential HIV counseling, testing, education and primary care and assistance with obtaining social services. The HATS mobile van team also goes into the community to provide HIV education outreach and home visits.

The Health Career and Work-Study Programs for Youth gives local high school students the opportunity to experience working in healthcare. They get hands-on training and mentoring from seasoned professionals as they rotate through clinical and support service areas, and attend monthly seminar workshops and career discussions.

A part of the Brooklyn Breast Health partnership, East New York offers an extensive outreach program to women 35 and older, including screening and biweekly education classes taught by registered nurses. On-site mammography is available.
