Room Inc. and Copart. The auctions, which remain free and open to
the public, occur on Wednesdays.

On April 17, Mayor Bloomberg announced the winners of NYC BigApps
3.0, the third annual competition for software developers and members
of the public to create Web or mobile applications using official
City data. Eleven winning applications were selected from a record
96 eligible applications.

From March 2 to 30, students in 103 school buildings across NYC participated in the Green Cup Challenge™, an annual student-led competition that aims to reduce school-based electricity use. The winning schools reduced usage by an average of nearly 34% and received grants totaling $100,000.
