to help support City programs serving those in need throughout the five
boroughs. For each generous donation, we will send a personalized letter
to the recipient of your choice detailing the gift and the program supports. |

BUY
A TREE FOR A NEIGHBORHOOD IN NEED
Help us reach our goal
to plant one million new trees in New York City by 2017. Your donation
will help plant a tree in targeted Trees for Public Health Neighborhoods
with high rates of adolescent asthma and low tree canopy cover. Your gift
recipient will receive a customized certificate detailing the purchase
of the tree.
- $100 will plant a small tree in a park
- $250 will plant a medium size tree in a City public housing
development
- $500 will plant a large tree in a public school yard

START
A SCHOOL GARDEN
Help a New York City
school start a garden where students can see how food is grown and literally
taste the fruit of their labor! School gardens are the perfect learning
environment for nutrition education and also provide improved fresh food
access in their schools and community.
- $500 will help an existing, under-utilized garden purchase
seeds, compost,
mulch, plants, replacement tools, hoses, and gloves
- $1,500 will help establish a new garden and purchase soil,
compost, materials
for raised beds, a full set of tools, hoses, watering cans, gloves,
seeds and
plants

PROVIDE
CRITICAL SUPPLIES FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS
The City's Family Justice
Centers serve victims of domestic violence and their families.
- $100 donation will provide any of the following items:
Transportation for 20 victims to seek services at a center
Four toiletry kits for those entering emergency domestic violence shelters
Two winter coats to keep a victim and child warm this winter
One stroller for a domestic violence victim
A two-month supply of diapers and wipes for a child

CREATE
"FRESH START" KITS FOR RUNAWAY HOMELESS YOUTH
The New York City Department
of Youth and Community Development serves approximately 3,000 runaway homeless
youth annually through drop-in centers, crisis shelters and transitional
independent living.
- $100 donation will provide a "Fresh Start" kit, which
includes essential items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo,
soap, bedding, towels and clothing to distribute to youth

YOUR TIME AND TALENT
Everyone has something
to offer. This holiday season donate your talent, time and energy by volunteering.
Volunteer opportunities include: helping at food pantries or soup kitchens
through "Adopt a Food Program"; helping to spread the word about the flu
and the importance of getting vaccinated at community events, schools,
senior centers and houses of worship through the "Flu Fighters" program;
or making a difference in the life of a young student through "Middle School
