Mayor Bloomberg and Media & Entertainment Commissioner Congratulate the 2013 “Made in NY” Emmy Winners
September 23, 2013 - At the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, “Made in NY” television series were honored with 26 awards.
“The 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards have recognized some of the most talented people in the production industry by honoring so many ‘Made in NY’ shows this year,” said Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. “From casting directors to actors, hairstylists to camera operators, New York City is home to a thriving community of creative professionals and we salute all of them, along with our ‘Made in NY’ Emmy winners. The City has truly become a TV town which means good-paying jobs for 130,000 New Yorkers and an industry that contributes over $7 billion to the local economy supporting thousands of small businesses citywide. There’s never been a better time to be ‘Made in NY.’”
“This has been an incredible year for the thousands of New Yorkers who work in front of and behind the cameras on the dozens of ‘Made in NY’ TV shows that film on location and at stages throughout the five boroughs,” said Commissioner Katherine Oliver. “Congratulations to our ‘Made in NY’ Emmy winners! We can’t wait to see what your creativity will come up with next.”
