April 1, 2013 - An art film and the continuation of two TV dramas bring new stories for “Made in NY” film and television in April.

NBC’s “Smash” moves to Saturdays starting April 6 at 9pm. The musical drama stars Katherine McPhee and Megan Hilty as actors in different shows trying to make their way to Broadway.

From visual artist and musician Terence Nance comes An Oversimplification of Her Beauty. The film mixes live-action sequences with animation to look inside Nance’s past and current romantic experiences after being stood up. The film opens April 12.

Entering its fifth season, Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie” premieres Sunday, April 14 at 9pm. This season, Jackie is clean and officially divorced, with a life as complicated as ever. With new doctors, new romances and the return of a past love interest, “the queen of trauma” returns for a new season.
