February 1, 2013 - New shows on Broadway this month bring a little bit of the Lone Star State to the Big Apple.
Holland Taylor, star of film, stage and TV, portrays former Texas governor Ann Richards in her one woman show hitting Broadway this month. Ann is an original play, written and performed by Taylor, which takes a no holds barred look at the Democratic governor focusing on the woman over the politician. Performances begin February 18 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.
A musical interpretation of a 1997 documentary of the same name, Hands on a Hardbody follows ten hard-luck Texans as they endure sweat and singing to see who can keep their hand on a truck the longest and drive away with the American dream. Previews begin February 23 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
