August 1, 2012 - This month, the “Made in NY” Marketing Credit showcases a collection of independent films and a new comedy series. Advertising for the productions will be seen in subways, on bus shelters and in Taxi-TV.
In “Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell,” premiering on FX on August 9 at 11pm, the commentary and sketch comedy show will take on politics, pop culture, race and other topics of the day.
Spike Lee’s film Red Hook Summer stars newcomer Jules Brown as a young boy who meets his grandfather for the first time during a summer trip to Brooklyn. The film opens in theatres in the City on August 10.
Comedian Mike Birbiglia headlines Sleepwalk with Me, which follows a struggling stand-up comedian and his attempts to find success in his career and with his girlfriend. The film opens on August 24.
