Broadway Gets Ready to 'Bring It' in August

Broadway August 1, 2012 - Two new musicals with links to movies head to Broadway.

Chaplin aims to give a true account of the larger than life entertainer Charlie Chaplin. The new musical paints a picture of the revolutionary filmmaker, following him from the streets of London to the glamours of Hollywood. Performances begin August 21 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre.

Teenage girls take on Broadway in Bring It On: The Musical. Inspired by the film of the same name and focusing on high school politics and competitive cheerleading, the new musical comes from the creative team of Amanda Green, Lin-Manuel Mianda, Tom Kitt and Jeff Whitty. The competition opens August 1 at the St. James Theatre.
