"Made in NY" Films Are 'Larger than Life' this Month

January 3, 2012 - This January, four “Made in NY” films will open in theatres.

Roadie, an indie drama starring Ron Eldard and Bobby Cannavale, opens on January 6. The film follows a longtime roadie who returns home to Queens after losing his job, only to be confronted with his aging mother, high school friends and an old nemesis.

In Carol Channing: Larger than Life, director Dori Berinstein and co-writer and editor Adam Zucker capture the magic and vivacity of the 90-year-old icon. The film, which opens in New York on January 20, examines the life and career of Tony Award-winning Broadway legend, Carol Channing.

In Watching TV with the Red Chinese, three Chinese exchange students find their visions of America brutally shattered when they move to New York in the summer of 1980. The film opens in limited release on January 20.

Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks star in Man on a Ledge, due out on January 27. In this action thriller, an escaped convict stages a suicide attempt from a high-rise building in a desperate bid to prove his innocence.
