| Broadway Lets Down Its Hair  August 1, 2011 - The new Broadway season heats up this summer.Master Class depicts famed opera star Maria Callas during a stint at Julliard, instructing the next generation of singers. Tyne Daly stars as the larger-than-life diva as she reflects on her past. Performances run until August 21 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Hair, the Vietnam War-era rock musical, will come to a close September 10 following its return to Broadway at the St. James Theatre with its national tour. James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim’s musical Follies follows two couples at a reunion for an old Broadway theatre. This revival, which features Bernadette Peters, Jan Maxwell and Elaine Paige, begins performances on August 7 at the Marquis Theatre following its transfer from the Kennedy Center.
