Internet Week Returns in June with Conferences, Panels and More

April 1, 2011
- Now in its fourth year, Internet Week New York has fast become one of the world’s top gathering of Internet leaders, as well as a celebration of New York City’s thriving technology community. This year’s festival, which will begin on June 6, is expected to draw over 20,000 people to more than 200 crowd-sourced events across the city. The week will culminate on June 13 with the 15th annual Webby Awards.

Internet Week New York recently launched Make the Stage (makethestage.com), an online campaign that allows the public to submit and select the live presentations for the festival's main stage at Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea. Deadline for voting is April 22. Two entrants in each category will be awarded an hour slot on the stage, one chosen by the public and the other by a team of experts.

In keeping with the festivals policy of openness, any company or person can become an Official Event Partner simply by registering their event with Internet Week New York. There is no fee to participate.

This year’s festival will once again feature conferences, panels, meetups, screenings, exhibitions, networking events, parties and much more at the Internet Week New York headquarters and at venues Citywide. The preliminary schedule will be announced in late April. Visit internetweekny.com for the most up-to-date information.
