Oscar Nominations Announced for "Made in NY" Films

January 25, 2011 - “Made in NY” films are among the nominees for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. The Awards are presented for outstanding individual or collective achievements in feature films.

Nicole Kidman earned a nomination (Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role) for her performance in Rabbit Hole. In the film, Kidman portrays a woman suffering from the death of her young son.

Costume designer Sandy Powell received an Oscar nomination for her work on the gender-bending retelling on The Tempest, which shot on stages in New York City.

Also, Trish Adlesic, the location manager for “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” was nominated for Outstanding Documentary (Feature) for the film Gasland, along with Josh Fox.

The ceremony will take place at the Kodak Theatre on Sunday, February 27 and will be broadcast live on ABC. Visit to learn more.
