December 1, 2010 - Several “Made in NY” productions head to the theatre in December.

Julie Taymor’s adaptation of The Tempest hits theatres on December 10. Helen Mirren stars as Prospera in a twist on the male lead in the Shakespearean play. Djimon Hounsou, Chris Cooper, Alfred Molina and Russell Brand also star.

Rabbit Hole tells the story of a couple, played by Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart, whose lives are turned upside-down by the death of their young son. The film, based on a play by David Lindsay-Abaire, traces the different emotional journeys of two people dealing with unexpected grief. The film opens in limited release on December 17.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Justin Bartha star in The Rebound, coming to theatres on December 25. The romantic comedy tells the story of a housewife and mother who, after learning of her husband’s infidelity, moves her children to New York and develops a relationship with a much younger man.
