New York Musical Theatre Festival Introduces New Talents to the Theatre Community

October 1, 2010 - The New York Musical Theatre Festival is currently underway and runs through October 17. With twenty-seven musical productions, a developmental reading series and various special events, there’s something happening practically every day.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival provides a launching pad for the next generation of musicals and their creators to ensure the continued vitality of this American art form. Since its inception in 2004, the New York Musical Theatre Festival has premiered more than 200 new musicals - more than sixty of which have gone on to award-winning productions in New York, in regional theaters and in almost every state and in twelve countries worldwide. NYMF alum Next to Normal opened on Broadway last year, where it won three Tony Awards and was awarded the 2010 Pulitzer Prize.
