New York International Fringe Festival 2010 Kicks off in August

August 2, 2010 - The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the largest multi-arts festival in North America, will present its 14th outing from August 13-29. The festival presents works covering a wide range of disciplines, including theatre, dance, performance art, children's theatre (FringeJr), spoken word, puppetry, comedy, improv and multimedia.

This year, the festival will offer performances from over 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. In sixteen days, FringeNYC will feature 1,200 performances.

The NYC Fringe Festival will also host several special events. FringeClub is the late-night, after-show community of the New York International Fringe Festival. Audience members and performers can mingle with one another as they watch variety shows and relax in the Artists’ Lounge. Young adults can also check out FringeHigh, a collection of shows specially picked to resonate with teens. Outdoor performances will take place ‘Fringe Al Fresco’ as well.
