"Made in NY" Films are among the 'Finest' this March

March 1, 2010 - Several “Made in NY” films will head to theatres this March.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by Michael C. Martin, a former MTA employee, Brooklyn’s Finest follows three cops who find their lives intertwined at a Brooklyn housing project when they each decide to take the law into their own hands. The film stars Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, and Ethan Hawke, among others, and opens in theatres on March 5. During production, Fuqua distributed cameras to four young people from the Van Dyke housing projects in Brooklyn, where some of the film was set.

Remember Me stars Robert Pattinson in a story about the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of living passionately and treasuring every day of one's life. Rounding out the cast is Emilie De Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper, and Lena Olin. The film, which shot on location in New York City during the summer of 2009, opens on March 12.

In The Bounty Hunter, Gerard Butler stars as the title character who must track down his ex-wife, played by Jennifer Aniston, after she jumps bail. Things turn deadly when the duo realize they’re running for their lives. Directed by Andy Tenant, the “Made in NY” film opens on March 19.

City Island, which won the Audience Award at 2009’s Tribeca Film Festival, opens in New York City on March 19. From director and writer Raymond De Felitta, the film follows Andy Garcia as a prison guard who’s secretly taking acting lessons and the rest of his dysfunctional family who live on the tiny island in the Bronx. Julianna Margulies, Steven Strait, Alan Arkin, and Emily Mortimer also star.
