'New' Film Festivals Launch in March

March 1, 2010 - Film lovers will have the chance to explore new films in March.

New Directors/New Films 2010
Presented by the Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, this festival showcases international up-and-coming filmmakers and runs from March 24 – April 5. Screenings will be held at the Walter Reade Theater. Visit www.newdirectors.org to learn more.

City University Film Festival
The City University Film Festival is the official film festival of CUNY, promoting creative collaboration between CUNY student filmmakers and screening extraordinary shorts produced by a community of filmmakers representing all CUNY campuses. Beginning on March 20, the festival offers students a chance to promote their own work, review the work of their peers, and engage with industry professionals. The festival was founded by Hunter College student, Daniel Cowen, in his sophomore year, and is organized by CUNY students from across the boroughs. NYC Food Film Festival Seeks Entries
The 4th Annual NYC Food Film Festival is still seeking entries in the feature-length, short and super-short film categories for this year’s festival. A celebration of food and film, the festival is the only one of its kind in the world, a unique multi-sensory experience where filmgoers are able to taste the foods featured in the films.
