Film Festivals Close out the Year in NYC

December 1, 2009 - As the year comes to a close, several film festivals will take place throughout December while others are seeking submissions for the new year.

New York Turkish Film Festival
The 11th Annual New York Turkish Film Festival works to bridge the gap between the Turkish and American film industries. The film festival will showcase both commercial and independent works from Turkey and will also include short film and feature sections. The festival runs on December 2, 4 and 5. Zero Film Festival
The Zero Film Festival comes to the City December 9 through 13, bringing the bold and innovative work by filmmakers from around the globe. As the first film festival that's devoted exclusively to self-financed filmmakers, the Zero Film Festival is dedicated to promoting the work of this niche independent film community. Call for Submissions: Brooklyn International Film Festival
For filmmakers wanting to get a head start on next year’s festivals, the Brooklyn International Film Festival will begin to accept festival submission in early December. Expected to take place on June 4-13, 2010, BIFF’s film categories will include Feature, Documentary, Short, Experimental and Animation.
