January 27, 2009 - On two consecutive nights in February, the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting will present “Made in NY” Careers in Post-Production, panel discussions featuring members of New York City’s post-production community. On Monday, February 2, the discussion will focus on editing and color correction, and on Tuesday, February 3, the panel will focus on sound design. Both panels will take place at Deluxe New York in Manhattan. The panels are free and open to the public.
Post-production includes editing, color correction, sound mixing, digital effects, and soundtrack recording, activities that occur after the final scene of a film or TV show has been shot. The “Made in NY” Careers in Post-Production panels will provide the opportunity for students and interested New Yorkers to learn more about this dynamic field.
Commissioner Katherine Oliver will moderate the discussions, which will be followed by a Q&A session each night. Panelists include:

At the same time, we are working to ensure that a diverse group of New Yorkers have access to these positions through programs such as this panel and our ‘Made in NY’ Production Assistant Training Program - a series of free, full-time, month-long training programs developed with Brooklyn Workforce Innovations.
