Alvin Ailey 50th Anniversary Performances
Join the celebration as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater marks its 50th anniversary of bringing African-American cultural expression and the American modern dance tradition to the world’s stages. Performances take place from December 3, 2008 thru January 4, 2009. Tickets begin at $20. For more information: www.alvinailey.org.

Bronx Museum of the Arts
A cultural institution that focuses on 20th century and contemporary art, the Bronx Museum of the Arts has a permanent collection of 20th and 21st century works by artists of African, Asian, and Latin American ancestry. Suggested admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors; free on Fridays. Become a member and for just $50 receive free admission, invitations to special events, performances, and exhibition tours, and preview receptions of major exhibitions. Brooklyn Museum
“The Blacklist Project” features portraits and interviews of twenty-five powerful African Americans by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and Elvis Mitchell. Pregones Theater
From December 9-13, 2008, Pregones Theater presents Family Fun Matinee Series, featuring an irresistible comedy whose madcap characters tell the story of a little glutton boy and his misadventures. Performance Space 122
A multi-disciplinary arts center dedicated to developing and presenting new artistic work. Ticket prices range from $18 to $25. Become a member of PS122 and pay $10 for tickets. For more information: www.ps122.org.

Queens Theatre in the Park
Located in the New York State Pavilion in Flushing Meadows, Queens Theatre in the Park provides quality and diverse music, dance and theatre programming. Tickets prices are different for each performance, but range from $12 to $40. For more information: www.queenstheatre.org.
