Broadway Hit 'Doubt' Debuts on the Big Screen

December 3, 2008 - The adaptation of John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony winning Doubt makes its theatrical debut in December.

Directed by Shanley, the “Made in NY” film stars Meryl Streep as Sister Aloysius, the stern headmistress of a Bronx Catholic school in the 1960s. Suspecting a parish priest, played by Philip Seymour Hoffman, of an inappropriate relationship with a young altar boy, the two engage in a battle of wills. The film also stars Amy Adams and Viola Davis.
