February 1, 2008 - New shows and a chance at a new career filled 120 city bus shelters throughout the five boroughs in January.
Fox promoted two of its upcoming spring shows with posters for “The Return of Jezebel James” and “New Amsterdam,” both of which shoot in New York City. “The Return of Jezebel James” follows the plight of a children’s book editor who longs to have a baby of her own. When she learns she cannot, she enlists her sister to serve as the surrogate. The series premieres March 14th.
In “New Amsterdam,” a New York City detective cursed with immortality watches over the city he’s protected for almost four centuries. “New Amsterdam” is scheduled to premiere March 10th.
“Want a Job in TV and Film” aims to attract New Yorkers looking for entry-level positions in the city’s production industry. Partnering with Brooklyn Workforce Innovations, the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting has created a free, four week training program for production assistants. Graduates of the program have gone on to work for “Law & Order” and Sex and the City: The Movie.
