February 1, 2008 - Building on the success of nearby Steiner Studios, development concepts are now being accepted to transform a historic and bucolic area within the Brooklyn Navy Yard into a thriving media and entertainment campus.

The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation seeks proposals from media, film, television, entertainment companies, and non-profit organizations, as well as writers, producers, post-production, and media-related office tenants. There is particular interest in proposals that include a graduate-level educational component.

Located on the eastern edge of the Yard, the Media Campus is minutes from both downtown Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn, but its historic architecture and rich landscape provides a serene and secure 20-acre oasis in the middle of New York City. Its park-like grounds and abundant fields offer back-lot, outdoor shooting opportunities while buildings preserved from the Civil War and both World Wars are envisioned to house businesses providing a wide range of creative services.

Proposals are due by February 29, 2008.
