Each month we will showcase a City agency employee or an industry specialist who helps to facilitate production in New York City.

Lew Wells

February 1, 2005 - Llewellyn Wells is executive producer of the television show Jonny Zero which premiered on FOX last month. The show is being produced by John Wells productions, which also brought the television show Third Watch to New York City.

Lew Wells testified before the New York City Council during its consideration of the City’s five percent tax credit for qualified film and television productions, and announced that Jonny Zero would be “Made in NY” as a result of its passage.

“I’ve wanted to get to New York my entire life,” Wells said at the bill signing. “The crews here and the talent both in front of and behind the camera are incomparable. My partners John Wells, Mimi Leder and Scott Gemmill fought hard to keep this show in NY. And from what we're seeing in the show, that effort has more than paid off.”

Jonny Zero employs a diverse cast and crew comprised of 120 New Yorkers. The production constructed sets including a loft apartment and boxing ring at Silvercup Studios in Queens, and has also done a lot of production on the streets of New York City.

Tune in to Jonny Zero Friday nights at 9:00 pm on FOX!
