Denise Motta
April 1, 2006 – As a Project Manager at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC), Denise Motta handles filmmaking at EDC properties, which include the South Street Seaport, Fulton Ferry Landing and streets underneath the FDR Drive near the East River. Motta began her career with the agency as an administrative assistant six years ago, and has handled production requests for the past three years. Recently, she has facilitated the production of the film "Mostly Martha" at the old Fulton Fish market, scenes for "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" at the Bush terminal in Brooklyn, an Armani commercial at the Brooklyn Avenue Terminal, and a Mercedes commercial and still photography for H&M at the Fulton Ferry Landing.
For Motta, the South Street Seaport is an ideal location for production because of its rich history. "With its incredible views of the Brooklyn Bridge, charming surrounding streets and the ships at Pier 16, this is truly a unique location," she said. "And Fulton Ferry Landing offers some of the greatest views from Brooklyn to Manhattan."
Motta says the best part of her job is seeing the final products. "These productions provide amazing advertising for the City," she said. "When I see the South Street Seaport or Fulton Ferry Landing in a commercial or show, it really makes me smile."
