Erika Feldman Erika Feldman, Theatre Row July 1, 2006 – As General Manager of Theatre Row, Erika Feldman oversees and books the venue’s six performance spaces, which range from 55-199 seats. The facility is home to the Summer Play Festival, of which Feldman is the managing director, as well as resident theatre companies including the Epic Theatre Center, Keen Company, New Group, Partial Comfort and Tact. Feldman, who has worked in both commercial and non-profit theatre, got her start in the industry as a Production Assistant, worked her way up to Stage Manager, and then moved from production to administration when she became General Manager of the Theatre for a New Audience. For her, there is no better place to work in the theatre industry than right here in New York City. “I’m a native New Yorker, and as a child my family always went to the theatre, so I fell in love with it before high school,” she said. “In this industry, New York is the place to be.” In particular, she says the theatre community in New York is nurturing and rich with opportunities. “New York City offers the biggest group of people working in theatre at one time. Even still, it’s a small community and we get to know one another quickly. The talent pool here is so much a part of the city, and theatre is such a part of the history of New York, and it’s what I love about the City.” Click here for more information on the Summer Play Festival.
