The Artists Company
December 3, 2008 -
The Artists Company is one of the longest running television production companies in New York City. Created by owner and executive producer Roberto Cecchini, The Artists Company has been producing television commercials for more than thirty years.
With offices in NYC and LA, The Artists Company produces approximately one hundred commercials each year. With a roster of nine directors, the company and its staff producers hire freelance crew members to shoot their projects, one of which is the soon-to-be launched PSA campaign from the MOFTB - "Reel Jobs, Reel Proud, Real New Yorkers." Local labor provided the crews pro-bono for the PSA shoot that features real New Yorkers who work in the production industry in the City.
Sally Antonacchio, vice president in charge of the business aspects of The Artists Company, has been The Artists Company for eighteen years.
The New York office recently relocated from 21st Street to Mercer Street in Soho. "We have chosen to maintain an office and therefore a strong presence in New York because we have found that often agencies look to do their New York shoots with a New York based production company," said Cecchini.
"It's easier to get permits in New York City than in other places," said Antonacchio. Over the years, she noted, it's gotten easier and better to shoot here as well. "It's a pleasure working with the Mayor's Office."
Antonacchio credits Cecchini’s vision and energetic approach for The Artists Company sustainability over these last thirty years. “We’ve all worked here for years,” she added. “There’s only one person on staff who’s been here for less than ten years.”
