Historic Richmond Town

Voorlezer's House, Historic Richmond Town

February 1, 2005 - Historic Richmond Town, located in the heart of Staten Island, is a 100-acre authentic village and museum complex interpreting three centuries of daily life and culture on Staten Island. Historic Richmond Town’s 25-acre colonial village features 15 historically furnished and restored buildings, including homes, commercial and civic buildings. Restored buildings include an 1837 courthouse, a 1695 schoolhouse, a 1720 farmhouse, an 1819 tavern, and an 1840 general store.

Historic Richmond Town’s diverse setting makes it an ideal location for film and photo shoots. Most recently, the film Kinsey, starring Liam Neeson and Laura Linney, was shot on the grounds. In addition, Historic Richmond Town has hosted several magazine shoots, including a recent shoot for Martha Stewart Living. For more information on filming at Historic Richmond Town, visit the website at www.historicrichmondtown.org or contact Barbara Kenny at 718-351-1611x266.
