Tribeca Film Festival, Take Four
April 1, 2005 New York City is proud to welcome the fourth annual Tribeca Film Festival, taking place from April 19-May 1, 2005. There is no better home for this event than right here in New York City, the largest and most important center of independent filmmaking in the United States.


Producers Partner with FoodChange
April 1, 2005 The film The Producers, which is currently shooting at Steiner Studios, is supporting more than New York City’s production industry! On March 14, the production sold seats during the filming of a scene at the St. James Theatre. Audience members wore 1950’s clothing and were featured as extras in the film. Ticket sales benefited FoodChange, which provides food to the hungry in New York City.


Moviemaker Magazine: NY #1 City for Indies
April 1, 2005 Moviemaker Magazine’s “Best Of” issue has named New York City the number one City for independent filmmakers to live and make movies in.


"Mad Hot" Makes it in NY
April 1, 2005 The “Made in NY” production Mad Hot Ballroom, which premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival in January, has been purchased by Paramount Classics and will release this May. The film tells the story of a diverse group of eleven year old New York City children learning about life and ballroom dancing. It shot exclusively in New York City and will proudly display the “Made in NY” logo in its end credits.


"Hope" Ships Supplies to US Soldiers
April 1, 2005 The “Made in NY” production Hope and Faith has been exporting more than good will to US troops serving in Iraq. The cast and crew of both All My Children and Hope and Faith have shipped boxes of supplies to the troops as part of an initiative known as “boatsies.”


NAMIC in New York
April 1, 2005 The National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) recently moved its headquarters from California to New York City. NAMIC provides executive leadership, mentoring and coaching programs as well as seminars and networking events to educate, advocate and empower diverse leaders in the industry.
