December 1, 2008 - To celebrate the new year, the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting is proud to announce the publication of the Scenes from the City 2009 wall calendar. An extension of the popular book of the same name published by Rizzoli in 2006 to commemorate the agency’s fortieth anniversary, the wall calendar features twelve iconic images from New York City’s rich cinematic history.

For decades, New York City’s elegant skyscrapers, glamorous rooftop terraces, and sweeping skyline views have been a familiar sight to movie-goers. With the Scenes from the City 2009 wall calendar, these scenes come to life with classic moments from films such as Working Girl, Manhattan, and Big filling up the page each month.

The Scenes from the City 2009 wall calendar is available for purchase online at Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com as well as in various Barnes and Noble stores in the City, the American Museum of Natural History, the New York Public Library Store, the Museum of the Moving Image, and the Rizzoli Bookstore.

Royalties from the calendar will go to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, a not-for-profit organization established to strengthen and support public programs through generous donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
