REEL 13 Features ‘Thirteen Conversations’

December 3, 2008 - REEL 13, Thirteen's weekly Saturday night film series, features a New York-based film that interlocks the lives of strangers, all seeking happiness.

Shot in New York City, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing, premiering Saturday, December 6 at 10:45 pm on REEL 13, uses the diverse cross section of city life to illuminate the common thread between the lives of thirteen New Yorkers. The critically-acclaimed film juxtaposes the stories of Troy, a BMW driving New York City lawyer, Bea (Clea DuVall), a professional housekeeper, Gene (Alan Arkin), a mid-level manager at an insurance agency and Walker (John Turturro), a physics professor at Columbia University. These ordinary people all find themselves asking the fundamental question pondered throughout history: What is happiness, and how does one achieve it?

REEL 13 is Thirteen's weekly movie showcase for classic, short, and independent films. Every Saturday night beginning at 9 pm, viewers can catch a Classic film hosted by Neal Gabler, followed by a Short film selected by visitors to Reel13.org who vote for their favorite of three shorts every week. The evening ends with an Indie film, hosted by Richard Peña, Program Director of the Film Society of Lincoln Center. If you are a filmmaker and would like your short film to be considered for selection, go to Reel13.org to upload your film.
