New Line Cinema "Elves" delivering toys at ACS's Coalition for Human Housing Day Care Center.
November 7, 2003 As part of "Elf Day," declared by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg on Friday, November 7, 2003, New Line Cinema donated a total of 200 toys to 6 City-funded child care centers across the five boroughs. This project was coordinated by the NYC Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting, in association with New Line Cinema and the Administration for Children's Services. The feature film "Elf" shot for 2 weeks in New York City and spent $4.5 million on location. It opened nation wide in theatres on Friday, "Elf Day."
One of the child care centers benefiting from this effort is the Coalition for Human Housing Day Care Center. As part of New Line Cinema’s initiative to give to the City during the holidays, an "Elf" taxicab carrying elves, delivered 35 toys to this center on Elf Day.
