November 2, 2009 - These “Made in NY” films will release in November:

Precious: Based on the Novel by Sapphire opens in select theatres on November 6. Directed by Lee Daniels, the film shot on location in New York City during the fall of 2007. Based on the acclaimed, best-selling novel Push, Precious is the redemptive story of Precious Jones, a young girl in Harlem struggling to overcome tremendous obstacles and discover her own voice. The film stars Gabourey ‘Gabby’ Sidibe, Paula Patton, Mo’Nique Imes, Lenny Kravitz, Mariah Carey.

Writer-director Rebecca Miller’s new movie, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, follows its title character, played by Robin Wright Penn, who embarks on an unplanned emotional journey that threatens to pull apart her seemingly perfect existence, for the better. Helping her to break through the façade is her odd and soulful neighbor, played by Keanu Reeves. Supporting cast includes Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder, Maria Bello and Blake Lively. The Private Lives of Pippa Lee opens in theatres November 27.
