November 5, 2008 - New York City commuters got to travel back to 1973 as ABC’s “Life on Mars” was featured on eighty-five bus shelters throughout October.

In the series, Detective Sam Tyler (Jason O’Mara) finds himself mysteriously waking up in 1973 after being hit by a car in 2008. He doesn’t know why he’s there or how he can return to his own time. But he’s still a cop and while he works to solve crimes, he constantly finds himself clashing with Lieutenant Gene Hunt (Harvey Keitel), Detective Ray Carling (Michael Imperioli), and their 1970s police sensibilities. The series airs Thursdays at 10pm EST on ABC.

The co-branded bus shelter advertisements are part of the “Made in NY” Marketing Credit, which provides free advertising on city bus shelters to productions that shoot 75% of their work in New York City. Click here for more information.
