November 1, 2007 - On Wednesday, October 24, Esquire magazine hosted a charity event to benefit The New York City Police Foundation at Esquire North, the magazine’s “Ultimate Bachelor Pad.” The event was partnered by The New York City Police Foundation, Inc.; The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting; NBC Universal; and Intel.

At the event, Esquire honored New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly and “Law & Order” creator and Emmy-winning producer Dick Wolf. Among the guests who attended were Jesse L. Martin and Jeremy Sisto from “Law & Order;” Christopher Meloni, Richard Belzer, Ice-T, Dann Florek, Tamara Tunie, and Adam Beach from “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit"; Chris Noth, Kathryn Erbe, Alicia Witt, and Eric Bogosian from “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” and Steven Zirnkilton, the voice of “Law & Order.” All money raised through the event was donated to the NY Police Foundation.

The event brought attention to The New York City Police Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to strengthen the services of the New York City Police Department and to improve public safety in New York City.

“The Emmy Award-winning drama ‘Law & Order’ and its multiple spin-offs have long been a part of New York City’s rich production community, which provides employment for the 100,000 New Yorkers who work in the film and television industry,” said Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting. “We’re proud that the ‘Law & Order’ franchise, now entering its 18th season, has made New York its home.”

“Because 93% of the NYPD budget is dedicated to personnel, there is little left for innovative programs,” said Pamela D. Delaney, President, New York City Police Foundation. “The Police Foundation helps the NYPD keep pace with rapidly evolving technology, strategies and training.”

Esquire North, a 5,700 square-foot triplex penthouse apartment in Harlem has a never-before-seen spectacular northern view of Manhattan’s Central Park. Located on Central Park North at Lenox Ave., Esquire North has floor-to-ceiling, 22-foot windows providing unobstructed views of Central Park and midtown Manhattan.
