November 1, 2006 - Tribeca Cinemas helps the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting celebrate its 40th anniversary with an exhibition of photographs, designed by Duggal Digital Solutions, looking back at on location filming in New York City over the past 40 years. The exhibition will highlight photographs from the new book, Scenes from the City: Filming in New York 1966-2006, edited by James Sanders, produced with the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting and published by Rizzoli.
The Exhibition is free and open to the public from October 26-November 27, Tuesday-Sunday, 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Tribeca Cinemas Gallery, 13-17A Laight Street (between Varick and Avenue of the Americas).
Continuing the celebration Tribeca Cinemas will offer free screenings of five quintessential “Made in New York” films: Big, Goodfellas, Midnight Cowboy, Hair and Ghostbusters, all of which were filmed on location in New York City. Screenings will take place on October 27, November 3 and November 25 (Details regarding screening date for specific films to follow). Ticket pickup is in the Tribeca Cinemas Gallery.
