Mayor Bloomberg accepts an award at the annual DGA Honors
November 1, 2006
– Last month, the entertainment industry recognized Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg for his support of our local production industry. In 2005, the City’s “Made in NY” incentive program generated $1.5 billion for our economy and created 10,000 jobs for New Yorkers.
On October 12, the Directors Guild of America honored the Mayor at the annual DGA Honors. The Mayor received an award along with “Sopranos” executive producer David Chase, director Arthur Penn, actor Danny Glover, and the Anthology Film Archives.
And on October 23, Mayor Bloomberg was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable hall of fame, along with FOX chairman Peter Chernin, CBS Paramount Network Television president Nancy Tellem, GroupM CEO Irwin Gotlieb, CNBC and MSNBC anchor Tim Russert, HBO Chairman Chris Albrecht, actor Susan Lucci, Pappas Telecasting Companies chairman Harry Pappas, Lifetime president Betty Cohen and “Entertainment Tonight.”
Congratulations!
