40th Anniversary Cultural Events Continue in November


November 1, 2006
- The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting continues to celebrate its 40th anniversary this month with programming about the history of film, television and commercial production in New York City, planned in conjunction with local cultural organizations. Events this month include:

Wednesday, November 1

Donnell Library Center screening: STREET FREAKS, MINGUS, and PUNKING OUT at 2:30 pm

Friday, November 3
HSBC presents a “Made in NY” screening at Tribeca Gallery

Saturday, November 4
Queens Museum of Art: International “Made in NY” film series: KABHI ALVIDA NA KEHNA / discussion at 2 pm

Sunday, November 5
MoMA screening: WALL STREET at 2 pm
MoMA screening: MIDNIGHT COWBOY at 4:30 pm

Monday, November 6
MoMA screening: MIDNIGHT COWBOY at 6 pm
MoMA screening: WALL STREET at 8:15 pm

Wednesday, November 8
Museum of the Moving Image; Screening of FUR with reception at 7pm
Museum of Television & Radio: Robert Smigel at 6:30 pm
Donnell Library Center screening: ORGANISM, CLAW, HIGHWAY HOMAGE, and WONDERFUL CONSTRUCTION at 2:30 pm

Museum of Television & Radio: Katie Couric at 8 pm

International Center of Photography: Scenes from the City book signing w/ James Sanders at 6 pm

Saturday, November 18
