Christine Ebersol stars as both Big Edie Bouvier Beale and Little Edie Bouvier Beale in Grey Gardens

November 1, 2006 – Spring will come early to Broadway this year. Renowned director Michael Mayer’s Spring Awakening --a timeless musical about teenage troubles – opens at the Eugene O’Neill theatre on December 10.

Also blooming on Broadway is Grey Gardens, the time-honored and highly anticipated production which uses new music to tell the story of two wealthy society women from Long Island who, after a life of society parties, paradoxically become hermits. These women are both brought to life by the wonderfully talented Christine Ebersole. The production opens November 2 at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

The heroine of The Pirate Queen, slated to open on Broadway on March 2, 2007, is also stealing hearts. Directed by Tony Award-winner Frank Galati, this musical features a dynamic cast, new music, and a powerful performance by lead actress Stephanie J. Block, playing a pirate and mother.

Speaking of identity and relationships, High Fidelity is sure to have audiences laughing when it opens at the Imperial Theatre on December 7. The production, based upon the acclaimed novel by Nick Hornby, follows a man as he revisits past relationships-gone- wrong.

Also exploring romance and cosmic relationships are director Gary Griffin and lead actress Kristen Chenoweth, in the revival of Jerry Bock-Sheldon Harnick’s classic The Apple Tree. The show opens on December 14 at Studio 54.
