Posey and Fallon Flip for Pepsi

November 1, 2005 – “Spontaneous Combustion,” a commercial shot in Manhattan this September features actors Jimmy Fallon and Parker Posey flipping – literally! – for Pepsi. After exiting nearby delis and discovering they have both purchased Pepsi, the stars break into dance in the middle of the street, jump on top of a cab, and then over it. The commercial features Fallon flipping on the side of a building and Posey doing a “moonwalk slide” off of a curb. About 100 extras watch in the background.

Production of the commercial, which in particular involved complicated rigging for the flying and flipping scenes, was coordinated by the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting and shot along MacDougal Street. Location Manager John Maher said the commercial possesses the “kinetic energy you get from filming on the streets of New York.”

“It’s not a stage or a build – it’s really New York. As a location manager and native New Yorker I am extremely proud of our city and the hard working crews that fuel the film industry.”
