New York, Entertainment Capital of the World

October 1, 2003 On September 3, 2003, the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting organized the very first "Entertainment Tour" for international journalists, in cooperation with the Foreign Press Center. 40 journalists from Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Taiwan were in attendance. Courtesy of Gray Line Buses, the group traveled to Silvercup Studios for a tour of the sets of "Stay" and "Hope & Faith," the American Museum of the Moving Image, and Kaufman Astoria Studios for a tour of the sets of "Sesame Street," "Whoopi," and their state-of-the-art sound studio.
