
September 1, 2010 - Several “Made in NY” films will make
their way onto the big screen this month.
Drew Barrymore and Justin Long
star in Going the Distance, a romantic comedy directed by Nannette
Burstein, that explores the challenges of a long distance relationship. The film
opens on September 3.
The Winning Season, starring Sam Rockwell
and Emma Roberts, centers on a washed up coach who’s given a second chance
coaching the girls’ basketball team at his local high school. The film opens in
New York on September 3.

Boating will open in limited release in the City on September 17. The story
follows four New Yorkers as their lives change for better and
worse.
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Oliver Stone’s modern-day
follow-up to 1987’s Wall Street, will premiere September 24. Disgraced
financier Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) crosses paths with an up-and-coming
trader (Shia LaBeouf) who is engaged to his daughter (Carey
Mulligan).
Starring James Franco as the young poet Allen Ginsberg,
Howl depicts the life of Ginsberg as he creates his seminal work and the
obscenity trial that followed. Mary-Louise Parker, Jon Hamm, and Jeff Daniels
also star in the film. Set in San Francisco but shot on location in NYC, the
film opens on September 24.
