September 1, 2009 - September means the start of the fall TV season, and these “Made in NY” productions will debut throughout the month:

The Upper East Side elites head to college as “Gossip Girl” returns Monday, September 14 at 9pm on the CW for its third season.

Newcomer “The Beautiful Life” premieres on the CW on Wednesday, September 16 at 9pm. The series follows two teenagers as they learn to navigate the world of high-fashion modeling in New York City.

“Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday” heads to primetime for a limited run beginning on Thursday, September 17. The abbreviated “SNL” airs on NBC at 8pm.

Jason Schwartzman plays as a Brooklyn man who pretends to be a private detective to get over a broken heart in the new HBO comedy “Bored to Death.” The series begins on Sunday, September 20 at 9:30pm and also stars Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis.

Julianna Margulies heads the cast of CBS’ new series “The Good Wife.” Margulies stars as the wife of a disgraced politician played by Chris Noth. The show premieres on Tuesday, September 22 at 10pm.

“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” heads to a new night on Wednesday, September 23 at 9pm for its eleventh season on NBC.

“Law & Order” returns for its twentieth season on Friday, September 25 at 8pm on NBC. With Sam Waterston as district attorney and detectives Jeremy Sisto and Anthony Anderson, the long-running program continues to examine crime and justice from a dual perspective.

Politics, the news, and popular culture are ready to be skewered as “Saturday Night Live” premieres on Saturday, September 26 at 11:30pm on NBC.
