September 12, 2008 - To celebrate the opening night of the New York Television Festival, Commissioner Katherine Oliver and NYTVF Founder and Executive Director Terence Gray presided over the Opening Bell at NASDAQ on Friday morning, September 12.

Joining them at the podium were representatives from several “Made in NY” shows – “Ugly Betty” executive producers Joel Fields, Richard Heus, and Victor Nelli, Jr.; “Life on Mars” executive producer André Nemec; and “Law & Order” actor Anthony Anderson.

Held annually each fall in New York City, the New York Television Festival unites artists, executives, industry figures, and fans together in one forum to celebrate television and help shape its future.

Both “Ugly Betty” and “Life on Mars” were part of an ABC special sneak peek at the Festival on Friday night. Anderson hosted NBC Short Cuts, a showcase of short, diverse, and comedic films.
