NYC Welcomes Back 'Ugly Betty'

September 17, 2008 - New York City welcomed back “Ugly Betty” in a big way as 115 bus shelters were unveiled throughout the city during the month of September.

“Ugly Betty” originally shot its pilot in New York City in 2006. Over the summer, production returned home to film its third season in the city where the show is set. This season, Betty (America Ferrera) must prove to her family and the fashionistas at work that she’s all grown up and not the naïve young girl from Queens anymore. “Ugly Betty” airs on ABC on Thursdays at 8pm EST.

The co-branded bus shelter advertisements, which can currently be seen in locations throughout the five boroughs, are part of the "Made in NY" Marketing Credit, which provides free advertising on city bus shelters to productions that shoot 75% of their work in New York City.
