'SummerStage Classics' Brings Music to NYC TV


August 3, 2009 - Catch up on SummerStage throughout August! Every summer, Central Park SummerStage, a program of City Parks Foundation, presents performances of outstanding artistic quality, free of charge, to serve the diverse communities of New York City. “SummerStage Classics,” now airing on NYC TV, features highlights from some of the best performances over the past three years.

Artists featured in these episodes include: The Apples in Stereo, Ozomatli, Seu Jorge, MC 5, Citizen Cope, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens, Daby Toure, The Sugar Hill Gang, Luv Bug Starski, DJ Hollywood, Donell Crawford, Irma Thomas, Babylon Circus, Vieux Farka Toure, Fallou Dieng, M.I.A., Amadou and Mariam, Menahan Street Band, Tegan and Sara, and Alex Cuba Band.

Episodes air on Thursdays at 11pm with an encore airing Sundays at 10pm. NYC TV is broadcast on Channel 25 on Time Warner Cable, Comcast New Jersey, RCN and Dish TV, Channel 22 on Cablevision, and Channel 888 on DirectTV. To learn more about NYC TV, visit nyc.gov/tv.
