Department of Citywide Administrative Services Proposes to Adopt Amendment to Rules Governing Filming in DCAS Properties

August 27, 2009 - The Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) proposes to adopt an amendment to the rules that govern filming and photography on the properties and within the facilities under the jurisdiction of DCAS that require permits from the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting. As part of the proposed amendment, an administrative fee of $3,200 would be collected for shooting on DCAS properties or within DCAS facilities.

The purpose of these proposed rules is to provide clear guidance to productions and individuals who wish to engage in film and photography shoots on DCAS properties. Given the frequency and complexity of filming activities by both amateurs and professionals, it has become necessary to codify the process that has been followed over time.

As these are proposed changes, the public is invited to comment to DCAS in writing as well as to attend a public hearing on October 2, 2009 at 125 Worth Street, 2nd Floor Auditorium at 10am. Click here to read more about how to comment and to read the proposed rules in full.
