Local Film Showcased on Reel 13

August 1, 2008 - REEL 13, Thirteen’s Saturday night film showcase, will premiere The Cult of Sincerity, a new film by, for and about New Yorkers, on August 23 at 11:15 p.m.

The Cult of Sincerity, by NYU graduates and resident New Yorkers Adam Browne, Daniel Nayeri and Brendan Choisnet, is a tale of a twenty-something’s attempt to escape the sea of hipsters, poets, posers and his own jaded ways in order to find something to believe in. Shot on location throughout Williamsburg, Park Slope and Greenpoint, Brooklyn, the comedic satire highlights some of the city’s new talent and hipster hotspots. The Cult of Sincerity premieres Saturday, August 23 at 11:15 p.m. on Thirteen.

REEL 13 is Channel Thirteen’s weekly movie showcase for classic, short and independent films. Every Saturday night beginning at 9 p.m., viewers can catch a Classic hosted by Neal Gabler, followed by a Short selected by visitors to Reel13.org who vote for their favorite of three shorts every week. The evening ends with an Indie, hosted by Richard Peña, Program Director of the Film Society of Lincoln Center.
