Devil and Super-Ex Steal Summer Shelters



July 1, 2006 -
The Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting's June bus shelter campaigns promoted The Devil Wears Prada, Historic Harlem Parks Film Festival, Summer Play Festival and My Super Ex-Girlfriend.

The “Made in NY” film The Devil Wears Prada, starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, released in theatres on June 30, 2006. It shot from August of 2005 to January of 2006, employing 75 NYC cast and crew members, and tells the story of an assistant to a high-maintenance magazine editor.

The Historic Harlem Parks Film Festival features free outdoor screenings, music and dance this July and August.

The Summer Play Festival will present the work of the City's emerging playwrights at Theatre Row from July 5- July 30.

And the “Made in NY” film My Super Ex-Girlfriend, starring Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson, releases in theatres on July 21. The film shot in New York City from September 2005 - February 2006, employing 175 cast and crew members. It tells the story of a superhero who strikes back after being dumped by her boyfriend.

The co-branded advertisements are a part of the "Made in NY" incentive program's marketing credit, which leverages the City's assets to provide free advertising on bus shelters throughout the five boroughs to qualifying productions. Click here for more information.
