Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Fest Showcasing Best from Country

The festival kicks off on May 15. Photo courtesy of the BHFF.

May 1, 2009 - Now in its sixth year, the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival serves as an important showcase of contemporary Bosnian-Herzegovinian cinematography.

Although on average, Bosnia and Herzegovina produces only a few feature films per year, its filmmakers have gained worldwide recognition, often generating award-winning movies on very low budgets. Since its founding in 2003, BHFF has attracted filmmakers with ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina from all over the globe.

BHFF is organized by two New York area-based not-for-profit organizations, the Voice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Inc. and the Academy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The festival runs for two days starting on May 15 at Tribeca Cinemas. For more information and schedule, visit http://www.bhffnyc.org/.
